Stress Autism Mate SAM: Personalized App for Autism Spectrum Disorder
Stress Autism Mate (SAM) is a scientifically based personalized application designed for individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Developed by Ggz Centraal, SAM aims to provide insights into daily and weekly stress levels, as well as activities that contribute positively or negatively to stress. By generating daily and weekly overviews, SAM helps users understand their stress patterns and make adjustments to maintain a balanced stress level.
SAM utilizes a scientifically based algorithm to calculate stress levels based on user responses to questions about activities and associated stress signals. These questions are asked four times a day, covering the past four hours. Users can personalize SAM by setting the questionnaire times and days, as well as adding their own stress management tips.
SAM was created in collaboration with GGz Centraal and TNO, in response to the needs of individuals with ASD. It offers the option to share data with others and provides visual representations of stress levels through colorful or blue-shaded graphs. Users can choose to rate activities using emoticons or language.
